VILLA FIFTY.

Get Rich or Sniff Tryin'.

A residence for a rapper who once bought Mike Tyson's 52-room estate and said he likes “the look of an Architectural Digest”. So he got Architectural Digest, with a bowl. A basement recording studio, a club with a swing hanging from the ceiling, three wings and a garden statue nobody asked him for. He insisted. The lion had no say.

[ BRIEF ]

The client once bought 52 rooms from Mike Tyson and found turquoise with purple, straight out of “Miami Vice”. He still has flashbacks. At the first meeting he said he likes “the look of an Architectural Digest”. Pixel asked if you can eat it. You can't. We closed the brief in three words: class, bass, zero turquoise.

[ HOW IT WENT ]

CASE STUDY.

01 / GUESTS YOU NEVER SEE

The client bragged in interviews that guests can stay a whole day without running into him. Pixel took it as a challenge and designed a house where guests don't even run into each other. Three wings, three entrances, one kitchen. The fridge has a bodyguard. So do the sausages.

02 / THE HIT THAT HUMBLED BAHA MEN

At the acoustic test Pixel barked in the booth. The client said “again, but with feeling”. Forty takes and one sausage later, “Who Let The Pixel In” was born. It beat “Who Let The Dogs Out” in three weeks. Baha Men sent flowers and asked for a feature. Pixel replied he's booked until 2031.

03 / THE LION COMES SECOND

At handover the client shook Pixel's paw, went quiet for a minute and said: “This dog is big”. Pixel is 34 cm. The next day an addendum arrived: a three-metre golden Pixel. The lion, who'd stood in the garden for years, got demoted to 2.60 m. In arkeeno there's an approval signed by the client with the note “the lion knows what he did”. We don't know what he did.

[ PIXEL SAYS ]

“The client said I'm big. I'm 34 cm at the shoulder, so I asked for it in writing. I got three metres of gold. The lion next to me is 2.60 and has been in therapy ever since. I've been doing interviews.”

“I survived nine bullets. I didn't survive this dog sending my mix back because “the snare barks the wrong way”. He was right.”
